ACS Directory of Graduate Education (DGR) Now Free Online

The title pretty much says it all, but to add to that, the 2003, 2001, and 1999 versions are also available from the same site, http://dgr.rints.com/

It claims to be the "most comprehensive source of information on chemical research and researchers at universities in the U.S. and Canada."

IEEE Now Has RSS Feeds for New Issues of Their Journals

For those if you who use IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) journals, this is from SLA's Physics, Astronomy, Mathematics division email list:

As part of yesterday's maintenance release of the IEEE Xplore digital library, RSS feeds for new issues of IEEE journals are now available for all titles.

Feeds are available individually from each journal's main page in IEEE Xplore.

To see one example, visit the Proceedings of the IEEE main page at
http://ieeexplore.ieee.org/xpl/RecentIssue.jsp?punumber=5

RSS feeds can also be found through the Table of Contents Alerts service, which continues to offer notification by email.

Stampede Memorabilia Now Online

Okay, so this not even remotely related to Chemistry (unless you're talking cotton candy and maybe the addictive properties of those little donuts), but this is a gem, so I wanted to share it. A brief article is available in the November 2005 issue of On Campus.

Stampede memorabilia and images like postcards, posters, souvenir programs, Stampede prize lists and rules, annual reports and bull/cattle sale catalogues are now available online through the Alberta Heritage Digitization Project,
www.ourfutureourpast.ca
and at the Calgary Stampede site,
www.calgarystampede.com,
under Celebrating Our Past Creating Our Future.

Also, from the CHMINF-L list:

After you open up the SFS package, you need to put the site.prf file in (after you open up the package)....

... rather than in (but you can't stick it into "SciFinder Scholar" at the end there, because that's a file, not a directory).
