SciFinder Scholar Now Available for Mac OS X

CAS is pleased to announce the release of SciFinder Scholar for Mac OS X


The new SciFinder Scholar for Mac OS X provides all the power of
previous Macintosh versions of SciFinder Scholar and includes a
refreshed Mac OS X look with new icons and improved navigation using
your mouse wheel and scroll bar. This version provides you with:


* Direct integration with native OS X web browsers,
including Safari(r) (default), Mozilla Firefox(tm), Netscape(r)
Navigator and Microsoft(r) Internet Explorer

* Better desktop performance

* Streamlined installation with new Mac Disk Image install

* Support for Tiger (10.4), Panther (10.3), Jaguar (10.2)
versions of OS X



In 2006, another version of SciFinder Scholar for Mac OS X will be
released and will include more features, such as:



* Structure similarity searching (SSM subscription only)

* New structure and reaction query tools:



  • * Variable Attachment Position tool
  • * Repeating Group tool

* Easy access to additional reaction information

* Enhanced multi-step reaction display

* New quick look-up of research references

* Duplicate detection/removal and much more . . .

After you open up the SFS package, you need to put the site.prf file in (after you open up the package)....


... rather than in (but you can't stick it into "SciFinder Scholar" at the end there, because that's a file, not a directory).
